"The JOTI-JOTA is an annual event in which about half-a-million Scouts and Guides all over the world make contacts with each other by means of the internet and amateur radio. it presents an opportunity to contact scouts litterarly at the other end of the globe, Scouting experiences are exchanged and ideas
are shared. It’s a unique opportunity for each individual Scout to get the real feeling of belonging to a worldwide movement."
in Lebanon, the Lebanese Scouting Federation invited all membre associations to participate in the jamboree. a schedule divided the 48 hours of the event amongst the lebanese scouting associations. the Christians Scouts-Scouts Chretiens were assigned the 8:00-10:00 am shift, sunday morning.
with swollen sleepy eyes but nonetheless energetic attitudes, our represetatives started their shifts. the selected team was made of scouts, guides, rovers and chiefs, most of them from sainte sophie safra. they chatted with scouts from the four corners of the globe: finland, new zealand, mauritius, brazil, italy amongst others. they also contacted scouts in Oman and the U.S. through radio (this is bravo alfa lima speaking, do you copy?)
